Gorgeous Amputees

I'm Melissa. I'm 27, queer, and a congenital LAK amputee (and occasional wheelchair user) living in DC. I love sharing the beauty of amputee and differently-abled girls. We're all beautiful in our own ways, and this tumblr celebrates that. If you have anything you'd like to share, I'd love to hear from you.

takingbackhyrule asked: By the way, I am still recovering from all of my injuries, and my amputation is only three weeks old. If ANYONE knows of ANY methods to relieve phantom pain, I'd be really grateful.

I’ve never had phantom pain because my nerves never got the chance to develop any memory so I’m sorry I can’t be of help, but I’m sure other awesome Tumblr people have ideas.

Saw a TED Talk by VS Ramachandran that might...relevant. Phantom limb part comes in around...

  3. ajournalbyadriana said: i heard mirrors! to stimulate the brain into thinking that the opposite limb is there.
